Being the little shopaholic I am, it's customary for me to add new elements to any part of my wardrobe as seasons and styles change. A few weeks back, before it really started feeling like summer, I did just that with my ever growing sunglasses collection.
This time around I didn't go for anything super trendy, like rose gold round frames or cat eye sunglasses, just classic tortoise shell ones. Depending how you look at it though, tortoise shell sunglasses could be considered one of the trends of this summer since the popularity has spiked, but it is normal for that to fluctuate year to year.
These types of sunglasses aren't anything new to the scene. Given their high-fashion glamour look, they've been a consistent favorite for those who love the high-society style. Every sophisticated fashionista has or needs a pair.
The neutral coloring of these makes them extremely versatile because, let's face it, browns and blacks go with absolutely everything. Also, since most designers have been wanting to incorporate the shell into new products, every frame shape imaginable is available with this rendition of a pattern found in nature. Due to that, the shell ends up suiting that many more people's individual styles while keeping to that timeless look. Pretty cool, right?
I purchased two pairs of tortoise shell sunglasses; one being chic and one being urban, since my wardrobe is split between these styles. Either can be an accessory for a dressy or casual look. They'll always look fab! To see an example of an outfit I wore tortoise shell sunnies with, check out this post! Surely they'll be featured in future outfit posts because they're my new favorites!
