Blogmas Reflection

I, for one, cannot believe how quickly December has gone by. One day I’m undertaking the task and a half that is Blogmas, and the next it’s over! I suppose time really does fly when you’re having fun.

Blogmas has been over for four days now. That means four whole days of inactivity by me on here. During this month, I more or less developed the habit of making time to blog nearly everyday, so to not blog surprisingly has made me feel very unproductive and like I’m forgetting something. Hating that feeling, I’m back after a little four day break. It’s all so strange now, though. For most, even for myself prior to December, four days is a pretty standard gap between posts. However having completed Blogmas (for the most part) and established this routine habit, these days of not blogging has been very weird. And if I’m honest, I love that I feel this way. I feel like this month of blogging has taught and reaffirmed a lot for me, so I shall reflect!

I’m capable
Despite the many other things I do daily, I followed through with this crazy month of posting. Blogmas is something I said I’d do, and I did… for the most part! Between working, classes, and finals, I’m pleased as punch to only have missed a few days and have been able to juggle it all relatively well.

Passion
I’d say the force behind me following through with Blogmas is passion. For me, that is oh so present when it comes to blogging. As I do it more, my love for it grows that much more. Like with many of you, blogging is a favorite pass time of mine for a million different wonderful reasons and potential career path I’d like to work towards because of this love and passion. I guess Blogmas has helped me to realize that more than ever before. Maybe one day I can reach the point where I blog full-time. Who knows, though! Regardless, hopefully we can all succeed at whatever blog goals we have!

The creative flow
As someone who relies so heavily on the chance to be creative, having dedicated so much time to my creative space was amazing and unreal. This creativity has helped me in so many ways, like pushing my boundaries and ability, and pushing past my depression and anxiety. To have done this everyday was incredibly beneficial all around and I’m very thankful for that.

Not so shy
During this month, I really did push myself in a lot of ways. One of these ways was by interacting with fellow bloggers more. Despite how I am on here, my outlet, I am very shy and quiet and tend to be more of the observer. However this month, as everyone was buzzing about Christmas and such, I worked towards being a bit more chatty and join in on the hype. This was quite apparent on Twitter. Though this did make me a bit anxious at first, I’m really happy I pushed myself and now see what I haven’t been fully embracing or experiencing. That’s why I really want to work towards building genuine friendships with bloggers this upcoming year, and based on a poll I posted on Twitter this month, many of you want to, too. So if you want to be friends, please, hmu!

You
You never fail to put a smile on my face. Hearing from you always becomes the highlight of my day. I’m extremely appreciative that you take the time to stop by. So thank you very very much.

I hope you enjoyed Blogmas 2015! To any of you who attempted/completed Blogmas, well done! You should feel very accomplished and proud! Thanks for sticking around!

Much love,

  4. I'm glad you were able to push and challenge yourself. I've never thought of trying Blogmas out for myself because I didn't think I'd have enough time to. But I may give it a shot next year :) You just inspired me to.
