One of my goals year-round is to be the best version of myself. On this lifelong journey, I know I need to focus on physical health (food intake, exercise), and introduce and maintain more healthy habits in all fronts. In the past I never put too much thought into what I ate. Over all I ate well; however while I didn’t over indulge on unhealthy and junk foods, I didn't make it a point to find alternatives that could have easily satisfied my appetite while also keeping my body feeling fresh and energized in the process.
Personally I believe in the idea that everything is fine in moderation; however lately I’ve been trying to avoid those foods that are universally known to be bad altogether regardless. (Though I can’t cut out baked goods- gotta create content for le blog, right? ;)) With summer produce and my expedition to better myself inside and out, I have been trying loads of healthy foods and jotting down recipes along the way. Some of these include snack ideas, and I have one to share with you today!
This cucumber cracker combo is hands down my favorite snack at the moment. While it may not be the healthiest to some, it is definitely a step in the right direction away from chips. Not only is this snack super easy and quick to whip up, but only a few of these crackers are so satisfying, while being delicately delicious.
Triscuits [low fat]
Cream cheese [low fat]
1. Cut a cucumber into slices.
2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the Triscuit for slight taste and to fix the cucumber to the cracker.
3. Place the cucumber on the cream cheese.
And that’s it! Enjoy!
What’s your go-to summer snack?
